I'd say the refueling needs for a boiler plant would in itself make it a bad choice. That's the perks of nuclear, we don't have to refuel except every 20is years. Plus they're picking up the pace on building the ford class carriers. JFK is already farther along at this point than the ford was.

Also, good to see a fellow nuke mechanic. What ship? I did an enterprise tour and am teaching prototype now.

And the Kittyhawk is dead. Naval Sea Systems Command announced Sunday that she will be dismantled.

They're damned if they do and if they don't. We're mad when the try to do too much with to little and then get even angrier when do less with more.

The USN doesn't have the manpower to provide the massive crews old iron requires. On the other hand, might be nice to have at least a few hulls where the toilets aren't subject to failure due to a computer virus.

Buy the second QE class carrier from the uk and fill it with marine F35b's and harrier's and the usual VTOL , we sure as hell cant afford the cash to run the thing
