Dr. watsons

Does anyone know what Dr. Watsons post mortem debug is, all I know is that its a computer thing, I think its suppose to be a virus or something.
Thanks in advanced to anyone who can tell me what it is.

Dr Watson has been the Dump/Debug app that spawns when a windows application crashes since the earlyest versions.

In windows XP, the debugger can also ask you if you want to send the debug info to Microsoft.

What it does is check the files involved in the crash and the memory and CPU registers used while the crash occured.

For Sysadmins this is invaluable information because it can help track a bug in an application much easyer.

From what thematrix says it's just a core dump.
