Inside the Doomsday Seed Vault: A Canadian Man's Experience

One of my very first threads I created was about the Doomsday Seed Vault but not much information was handed out to public to see on the inside this amazing vault.

But do we know what it looked like on the inside? I haven't seen any posts of the inside of the vault but this one guy takes us on a mini-tour, and I am sure if there is ONE specific question on a certain seed to be stored in the vault, we all know what it is...especially because Canadians inherently are proud of this herb. LOL

That lady in the Video said that they never check the boxes of seeds sent to them, ever.

So this could be a bad thing, what if someone planted a bomb in one of them? Or a Bio Weapon?

@ 2:50 mins she says the boxes are screened for explosives at the airport before they go enroute to the seed vault.

In terms of seed quality, there are signed contracts guaranteeing non-GMO seeds amongst other guarantees.

Thank you just caught that, but, what if the seeds are bio weapons. How could they know?

Yes they have to sign a contract. But if 250 years passed, no one would be held responsible because everyone who lived when they were placed there, would be dead.

He mentioned there are about 1700 private vaults in the world run by different countries and organizations. But this one is very strict what goes in.

I'm just thinking ahead, of the possibilities that's all.

If i ran that place I would be checking every container rather than taking the word of the companies for it.

The lady says: No drugs or GMO seeds are allowed

I understand the GMO

But how can you deny drugs ?
How can you store all the usefull plants on earth without medicinal plants ????

What a stupid answer.. or system..

Hemp is not a drug. I am sure Canada has a yuuuuuuge pot vault though

I know.. But the word drug is very versatile, and a lot of plants can be used for both medicine, or pleasure or food...

I guess it is a political answer to keep the discussion low. I simply don't believe it.

I would say I have to agree with you. BigPharma won't.

Hemp needs to be preserved, cultivated and used more overall. Happy for this seed vault.

I was there myself and as i understood it all kind of original seed/herbs of a country has a place in the vault.
