The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency has ordered all Superjet 100s grounded for inspections of the stabilizer bracket attachment bands. Aircraft 95018, tail No. RA-89010 was undergoing inspection when cracks were found in the upper and lower lugs. The aircraft first flew in 2012.

Mexico's Interjet has grounded their 11 aircraft and begin using A321s on limited routes to cover for them. There is enough redundancy that there isn't a danger of an accident, but inspections must be carried out as soon as possible.

It is at least a reassuring thing that Russia is taking safety compliance seriously.
