Very sad news breaking.

Rick Parfitt, guitarist and song writer has died att the he age of 68, due to complications after a shoulder operation in Spain.

Rick had to retire from music a few months ago due to his heart condition.

I am truly shocked by this, as I have seen the mighty Quo live on a number of occasions and I know a lot of people took the Micky out of their three chord songs, but they were so much more than that.

They were true Great Bristish Rockers and Rick was a fine song writer.

R.I.P Rick, another music legend lost in 2016.

His heart probably couldn't deal with the infection he picked up after the operation on his shoulder.

Playing in n many bands over the years, I have probably learned around twenty of their songs over the years. My best friend is a real Quo fanatic, he is in a total state of shock at the moment.

Hopefully that's it now , the year started with the loss of a rock icon (Lemmy) and now Rick Parfitt.
There is a certain symmetry to it.

My thoughts to his family and Francis Rossi , one can only imagine the depth of the loss he is experiencing.

It would have been Lemmy's birthday today as well.

Yeah, 2016 can do one.

Oh no!

This is the first I've heard.

I knew about the heart problems but I didn't think he was on death's door...and at Christmas...

Condolences to his family.

Not my favourite group by a long chalk but they were/are a national institution. I do have a couple of their albums downloaded to my playlist. Here's one of my favourite Quo tracks:

The curse of 2016 lives on...

RIP
