Phoenix risen from the dust.
Mother's heat, father's lust.
Delivery made, stork just flew.
I begin my search for you.

Precious treasure, Heaven sent.
I am small, I am content.
Enthralled now by games and fun.
I find my search has just begun.

Tall and stronger I have grown.
Hopes and dreams of my own.
Age of innocence is gone.
Now my search will carry on.

Out into the great unknown.
Finally from the nest I've flown.
Caught up in the here and now.
My search will find you, this I vow.

Whiskey bottle sitting there.
Depression has me in it's snare.
Must continue, must be strong.
Why must this search take so long?

Looking back at where I've been.
Bitterness is creeping in.
Life is filled with loss and pain.
Have I been searching in vain?

Found what I had sought so long
To realize that I was wrong.
With sorrow, I bid it adieu.
I begin my search anew.

Aged and wrinkled shell of me,
Wishing death would set me free,
The last thread of life is spun,
At last my search is finally done.
