I'm not bashing the Computer games industry here its just that i've noticed a couple of copied ideas from tv and other games:

1.

Starship Trooper tv Series

and

Halo / Halo 2 for xbox

The helmets in particular looks extremely similar

2.

Killzone for PS2

and

Half Life - Combine Solider

its the glowing orange eyes in these two that makes them look so similar

---------------

so is it just me or are characters looking more and more similar

They're just trying to look futuristic, so it's hard to have many different designs. I don't think that the HL design looks similar to Halo. But getting back on topic, how many games have two-legged mechs wandering the battlefield? Battlefront, Empire Earth, Mech Warrior, Mech Assault, and many, many more. That doesn't mean they copied each other, does it?

Oh, well I can't see a couple of pictures, just a box with an X in it. But from what I can see you do have a point about the helmets.
