I've worked with antisocial families like this in the past. They leave wreckage, crime and debts in their wake. The reason they moved on was probably
due to eviction for rent arrears or to avoid payment.
The kids won't have been in formal education and will have case files identifying them for truancy and juvenile crimes.
The parents will have been raised the same way and could go back generations in the same manner. Criminal records will make them unemployable.
In the worst cases, we can blame the system easily enough but some families have outlived 'the system.' I mean, a family that hasn't had a job for
generations could actually hold the burden of responsibility.
Ironically they generate jobs for a lot of people. Mental health workers, police, probation services, youth offender services, hostel owners,
counsellors, outreach officers, medical practitioners, insurance employees, specialist teaching staff, detention centres, prisons etc.
They're not all 'bad' in my experience; many just don't have the skills or background to break the cycle. They're often trapped on the path from being
babes in arms. By the time interventions occur, the adults don't trust authorities and the kids don't either.
You're lucky they moved on
