Goldman Sachs 'paid for prostitutes, luxury trips and lavish parties in
bid to win £800million of investment from Gaddafi's officials

Goldman Sachs hoodwinked Libyan officials in Colonel Gaddafi's ruthless regime into investing more than £800million by plying them with prostitutes, lavish parties and luxury trips, a UK court has heard. Brokers at the world's most powerful investment bank paid for high-class escorts, business travel, five-star hotels and tickets to a Rugby World Cup game in a bid to generate business from Libya's giant sovereign wealth fund, it was claimed. Details of the extravagant hospitality allegedly heaped upon officials from the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA), set up in 2006 to invest the country's oil riches after economic sanctions were lifted, emerged today. Pop star James Blunt's society wife Sofia Wellesley is set to be called as a witness in the court case that will shine a light on Goldman Sachs' dealings with Libya's £46billion wealth fund. A descendant of the Duke of Wellington, she worked as a personal assistant to Mustafa Zarti, the LIA's former deputy chief, at offices in Mayfair. On the first day of a legal battle at London's High Court, Goldman Sachs was accused of exploiting the financial naivity and trust of Gaddafi-era officials into investing in complex financial instruments during the financial crisis. Goldman allegedly wrongly took advantage of trusting officials at the wealth fund to persuade them to invest £846million with the bank between January and April 2008, most of which it lost. While this kind of behavior isn't new or shocking, it's non the least intriguing that high officials, in this case from the Libyan gov't would or could be bought off by pros, I mean Gaddafi's Libya wasn't exactly some sexually frustrated pent-up religious fundie state, Gaddafi himself literally had an army of bad bitches, so why in the world all things being equal between rich and powerful nasty guys, did they not see this coming, why is it that some men can give away their nation's wealth for a short term spin at Goldman Sach's ass-ets , they could easily have flown in pros of their liking from anywhere in the world.

But as always it's the little people that suffers , and this is not limited to officials in Libya, right at home in the U.S it also happens, sometimes resulting in ruined careers..example Eliot Spitzer a former NY Governor that did battle with Wall St. managed to mortally wound his career by using public funds to finance high end hookers, he is rich by anyone's standards so why not pay out of pocket and while liberal NY could give him a pass on the hookers, his use of their tax dollars killed it for them.

I forgot when exactly, there wasn't one definitive moment , I guess it came in drips, but I am still intrigued as to why some are so easily baited.

how much money in this world gets party'd and lusted away in big business.....
oh, man...we could all fall like that in a two decade run, for instance,....of career climbing...thus thinking it's normal to carouse....oops....there goes the morals but...makin time go by, no one is there to stop it, so....sposed to be that way...yeah...
