Free Falling

I'm gonna do it, you've pushed me over the edge,
I'm gonna jump...jump from this two inch ledge,
Gonna fall to the depths, gonna end all my woes,
Cuz I've found myself facing a new kind of low.

I'm jumping, yep, and there's no one to stop me,
I'm gonna end it all, end all the pain and misery.
So what if the ledge, is only two inches from ground,
It's not the distance...it's the act that's profound.

I walk over , look down, from the edge of my deck,
See it's not life threatening, so I say what the heck.
One foot dangles off, the other balanced on heel,
Then I release them, let go of the bad emotions I feel.

Spread my arms out wide and I push off the cement,
Overall, I felt, it was a smooth, graceful descent .
Rolled over, looked up at the sun filled blue skies,
Thinking what a great day, it is, to just be alive.

Thanks,
