Dear chrOnaut,

I agree with your fine observation, she was working for many years without any recognition, her cause was extremely difficult to be carrying out since she was not even in a Christian country, the number of Roman Catholics in India is still low and in the 1950s was even lower than today.

She was also defying a social status quo in a society that was extremely divided in Castes, there were no real values of solidarity or mercy since the own way of thinking of the people conspired dramatically against those concepts, the dominant castes didn't feel at all compromised in to help the poor ones to fix their needs or suffering.

Mother Theresa was swimming for very long time against current, even she was forced to look for authorization to found her own religious community at some point to go ahead in the kind of social action she wanted, since his original one, the sisters of Loreto, didn't have the kind of regulations and vows were needed to do so.

Think that she was even helping people suffering of a kind of Leprosy. Mother Teresa soon opened a home for those suffering from Hansen's disease, she called it the hospice Shanti Nagar (City of Peace).

The Missionaries of Charity also established several leprosy outreach clinics throughout Calcutta, providing medication, bandages and food

Thanks,

The Angel of Lightness

Funny how this lady worked so hard, beefed money from the world and the company she worked for had and still has more money than she could ever have used without missing it

Bizzare if you think about it

Yes...some say that certain religions create the problems they then pretend to solve.

Create a sinner and provide the solution for it: Submission to a disgusting concept that tells people they are sinners for the sake of giving them the solution for a problem that would not exist in the first place, if they would not have created it to justify their own existence. That's disgusting!

Am I saying that certain religions, or better pseudo-religions, and their professionals are responsible for poverty and suffering? YES! That's what I'm saying.

Well the answer is so simple, she was an extraordinary good social worker in a country with no tradition of such activity and few values of solidarity.

We can't blame her for the good fame the Nobel award gave her, everybody wanted to donate her money because it was a great cause.

Thanks

Yes...in fact she was so extraordinary that almost none of the money she raised via donations made its way to the people on whose behalf she was soliciting the donations. She was a real gem, yes indeed!

Let's be fair and clear:

That's a very subjective point of view , as well as malicious, She was doing charitable effective action for peopla no body cared about in a non Christian country, among the most populated ones of the world, decades before she was awarded and had any international acknowledgement, with what funding?

Of course with the one of the Catholic church, she was bringing resources to a region where they were nonexistent.

Thanks

Let's be fair and clear:
The Catholic church has Billions

They don't share it with anyone, ever

The pope gave away a chair and everyone said well done, hypocrite, give away everything and live like Christ taught

Its not a church and its not Christian, its a business, televangelists from the second century

Dear Raggedyman,

No, you are wrong, during H.H.Paul VI Pontificate the Holy See gave Mother Teresa a Rolls Royce to facilitate her moving in India, to the so many places she needed to travel in supervising her missions.

A month after she received the car she sold it and she invested the entire money paid for it in to support the so many clinical expenses of her patients, she never accepted another automobile for her use in decades.

Now, it is true that there is money and a lot of prestige and History in the Catholic Church, if that wouldn't be the case no body may waste his or her time trying to sue it to get compensations for situations that are not fully clarified and also no film director may try to gain an Oscar discrediting it.

Thanks,

The Angel of Lightness

Dear Angel of Light

I am not interested in MT amazing work, it was
I am concerned with the greed, selfishness and arrogance of your church

I cant believe you justify it, a rolls Royce in India, that's just bizarre

What I find sad, you place your church on the cross, they have never been there, never will. There is no sacrifice in Catholicism, just greed and control

A rolls Royce, how stupid
