I'd probably laugh and cry if that happened. I hate Hillary & would only vote for her against Trump. But I'm a socialist ideologue that hasn't forgiven the neocons like Jeb for their "War on Terror". Then again, Trump would want me deported. But Bush & Clinton would bring back Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Kissinger. Ugh...

This is exactly it. They could actually decide to just skip primaries completely and decide internally which candidate to put up for election. It would seem to me they should at least want to follow the input of primary voters, as that would, in most cases, indicate which of their potential candidates has the best chance to win.

Not doing so, by either party (whether "subtle" via built-in superdelegates or overtly by nominating a different candidate than the results indicate) would provide positive proof (as if we needed it) that the concern isn't even for getting the party's candidate in office, but for keeping the power in the hands of the pre-determined insiders.

It's funny/sad/troubling that both parties would likely nominate an "outsider" if the nomination was determined by voters, and likely that neither party ultimately will.

Yeah I didn't create the meme. I knew there was some discrepancies and likelihood that he didn't say it. However, I think the message is spot on and more important than the messenger in this case, when it comes to the GOP and the DNC.

It would be sweet to see, if Bush and Hilldog get the nomination, then Bernie and Trump both run as independents.
That would be a fun vote to keep track of

Nope. If Bush gets the nomination the Republican voters will be rioting. Democratic voters will just show up (dead or alive) and pull the lever for Killary.

Trump vs Hillary.
Bush vs Hillary.

Trump might not be the GOP establishment's preferred candidate but he's far from anti-establishment. He's just gone from being establishment donor (in the broader sense of the term, what Sanders refers to as the "billionaire class") to candidate.

if we get a republican president and both houses of congress stay in the hands of the republicans....much legislation helping the middle class and poor in the last few decades, will be done away with...the wealthy and corporate will gain tremendously, and the rest of the working taxpaying public will foot the bill....abortion rights? dead...minimum wage raise? dead...social security and Medicare will be sharply cut....clean drinking water? only for those that can afford it....clean air? try and move as close to where the wealthy live, the closer the better...a good education? only for those that can afford it...decent housing? only for those that can afford it...oh!!!....and get your sons and daughters ready to go fight in some war, unless you're wealthy, then they are exempt from seeing any type of combat, even with a draft.

If they pull on Trump what they did to Ron Paul he will sue the RNC and run third party.
On top of that the GOP primary voters who resoundingly rejected Jeb will be so angry that basically the GOP will have committed suicide. It will be the end for them, especially if they get creamed in the general.
And if the democratic and the GOP steal the nominations from both Bernie and Trump you are going to have the angriest voters on both side in history.
Given that scenario can you imagine a Bush vs Hillary Vs Trump; it would be nuts, and many voters would vote Trump to screw over the establishment, including democrats so mad at there own party they would rather lose to teach them a lesson.

I agree. It's a dangerous game the party leaders are playing. Smart leadership would adapt to the times and find ways to co-opt the new movements. But the party leaders this time seem content to crush the new movements, even though they consist of the cores of their traditional bases.

This would be a great time for 3rd Parties if they were willing to exploit it. The Green Party could always accept Bernie as its Presidential candidate, and the Libertarians could do the same with Trump. That alone would give those parties incredible exposure which would help them in other state, federal, and local elections. And even without Bernie & Trump, those parties should be promoting themselves relentlessly right now. They could use the angle that they're not as corrupt as the 2 powerhouse parties; they're genuine change; they actually value and need the voters so they won't screw them over, etc.

In all honesty, this political situation is becoming incredible for independents like myself. The country is warming up to socialism and is seeing the corruption in both parties' establishments. All it would take is a united movement of likable politicians & some heavy advertising, and a new political party could make major gains right now. The "Lesser of 2 Evils" argument could die a glorious death if this were to happen.

I think the man is in denial. The delegates are HUMAN, they can do what they like . Trump is about to get 50 take all delegates from South Carolina. Jeb is polling at 5th place right now and only because there aren't more candidates. Trump will be the nominee, he is obviously not a complete idiot, he has proved everyone including me wrong. The republicans, John Boner in specific held the vote to change the rules back in 2012 to keep Ron Paul delegates from denying Romney. Trump is about to win S.C. with double digits, it will be record breaking, the others will quit.

The democratic process is this easy to understand. Every person in the world can vote for Bernie but it is the six old avon ladies that are super delegates and will vote Hilary DESPITE WHAT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WANT, ITS ALL WHAT SHE WANTS. This RNC guy is dreaming I think, a tactic to sway votes like Cruz's fake robocalls telling people that Trump quit.
