Are you buying from the Red or the Blue?

I was sent to this site recently. I haven't verified this 100% yet, but am curious what your thoughts are on the subject. Apparently you can shift quite a bit of money towards or away from a political affliliation just based off what you buy or what services you hire.

The site I referenced breaks down companies by Brand, Parent Company, % to Dem, % to Rep, $ to Dem, $ to Rep, and Other Brands of Parent, as well as citing sources of the information.

I don't know if this qualifies as making an informed purchase, but it's at least a place to start your own research into the matter.
