The NY Times has called him "collateral damage in the war on terror." Taken from his home in Mauritania after 9/11, Mohamedou Slahi has been held in the island prison camp for 13 years - tortured and never charged.

His lawyers say there was never evidence connecting him to terrorism; five years ago a federal judge agreed and cleared him for release. Nonetheless, he remains isolated and imprisoned along with 115 other detainees.

Gunman who shot 4 and threatened to kill everybody at Portland Scientology and burn down their Church, gets BA degree!

19 years ago, Godeka walked into the Portland Scientology church - which he was a member of - and SHOT FOUR MEMBERS IN THEIR CHESTS/TORSO, including a PREGNANT RECEPTIONIST (who is now permanently paralyzed from waist down). Then set the place on FIRE and took ANOTHER WOMAN HOSTAGE.
Luckily a police officer (hero?) persuaded him to surrender. It turns out he had a grudge against the church because it milked him and prevent him from bringing his sister over from Kenya. He was sentenced 120 yrs in prison, yet after barely a decade, is already working and studying and all.

Scientology gunman received University of Oregon degree this year, worked on campus

Gunman? Why not TERRORIST? He threatened an entired faith/church. He shot 4 memers of it, including a pregnant receptionist, and SET FIRE to the Church!

He mailed a toy tank tank with death threat messages to ANOTHER Scientology branch!

SALEM -- The man who shot four people 19 years ago at Portland's downtown Scientology center earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Oregon last spring, worked in the campus cafeteria part time while a student and now lives in a group home in Springfield.

Guess this media story is proof serial shooters and terrorists can be rehabbed? Wonder whats his degree in?

Meanwhile I hear Guantanamo is still full of folks who been there over a decade, despite Obama promises!

Your post just demonstrates that justice can be politically motivated/manipulated. It does not solely relate to terrorism either. Aaron Swartz and Bradley Manning are good examples.
