USGS 2004

What is happenig in December that we have so many quakes?? Is there relation between 2004 and 2003? Can somebody explain me that please,

I don't think it is just December, as the USGS site states

"The USGS estimates that several million earthquakes occur in the world each year. Many go undetected because they hit remote areas or have very small magnitudes. The NEIC now locates about 50 earthquakes each day, or about 20,000 a year."

Actually, there's no peak whatsoever in December. I actually took all quakes as far back as NEIC would go and looked at them in buckets of 5.0-9+, 6.0-9+, 7.0-9+, and 8-9+. The only legitimate "peak" is in August. August definitely has a peak that remains through the various ranges you look at. But December is about average.

yes but we cant deny that what ever is happening is happening more freqant and more powerfull

It's not earthquakes that are wrong with December. it's the temperature. Last week on Christmas Day here in south Texas it snowed. To put this event into perspective, I've never seen snow my whole life. This week it is too hot to wear a jacket and I'm walking aorund in shorts and flip flops.

More than I have seen in a long time.
And it's sort of the same here, with the temperature swings.
It was in the high 60's last week.

Most of it seems to have landed in my driveway, so please Swap the shorts and Flip-flops for a big coat, gloves, and bring a shovel

On another note, my niece reminded me that on Christmas Afternoon, We were sitting on the couch, and I said, "what was that?"..
It was like a wierd thump, we just shook our heads and moved on.
Is it possible I felt the Sumatra Quake?
