aha NO , she just took down the beloved confederate flag that every red neck here in S.C. proudly flies, every southeastern red neck hates her and
Mitt now, they were loved like the flag before that. As for the non red necks here, they hated her anyway, me included.
You gotta realize that most if not all "red necks" as you describe them that fly the Confederate Battle or Naval Flag, are convicted felons and cannot
vote.
Now, as a native South Carolinian, I'm proud to see the state government finally divorce themselves of the Confederate Flags. It's something that has
been needed for a long time. But, I had a thought about one of the most recent vilifiers of the Flags. The Honorable Mayor Riley of Charleston
described them as representing hate and slavery. I agree that hate groups in America have taken the symbols and corrupted them for their own use and
maybe something should have been done then when they were first shown as such.
But, the Confederate flags were only used officially by the Confederacy for 4 years from 1861 to 1865. Slavery in America was introduced in the late
1600's to early 1700's (I haven't found an official date that states "yep, slavery started on this date"). So the flags that flew over the terrible
institution of slavery were first British for close to 80 years and then the American for maybe 90 years.
Boy, those stars and bars certainly made an impression for 4 years!
