Bush should join Putin in the fight against Chechnya and in return get support from them in the war on terror. Russia combined with American, British, Polish and Australian forces could wipe out Chechen terrorists in a matter of days and detain a fairly large number of them so that they wouldnt have enough to counterattack.

Next on the list would be Syria. Of course, they would have to let Iran be because Russia is supplying them help in their "safe" nuclear energy program. Russia could strong arm Iran into complying with the IAEA regulations forever.

With that out of the way, Russia, Britain, Australia and the U.S. could invade North Korea.

After that, a little clean up job in the Sudan and a few covert ops in somalia.

Those are my two cents.

Edit: One more chip for the trade: Ukrainian elections in favor of Yanokovych

This would seem unlikely seeing as the rebels will simply re-locate or hide till the official troops leave. To march large armies over the border would give them days to dissipate and then re-organize.

US troops are already fighting a losing battle in Iraq and you would want them to engage in another quagmire? The same would apply for Iran.

Unlike Middle Eastern countries NK can actually rely on its military as a fighting force. This would unfortunately mean missile and air attacks launched against SK and Japan, which we all know house some of the most beautiful women on the planet and would be a hell of a shame.

There is still the current situation in Iraq though...

Even if Russia joined in do you really that they could still actually win?
History would dictate otherwise, for you cannot crush those that have the gift of higher moral and a will to fight in order to live and be free. Every bomb you drop and every bullet you fire simply expands the ranks of these fighters and makes them fight back all the harder.

Why do you list Australia among the likes of Russia, Britain and the US? You say it as if we are some kind of major player. Yeah, maybe we will donate a huge 2000 troops to the operations...

By the way, now that the US elections and the Australian elections are out of the way, plus the Aust - US free trade agreement is well under way, don't expect Australia to be throwing troops at any US adventures in the near future.

True. The Fox and the Rabbit. One is running for his dinner, the other is running for his life. Those who face destruction have more will to fight. Some guy from Alabama with visions of getting into college in after being discharged, and having a family, who never dreamt he'd really be in this situation, is conflicted.
