World's first 'feeling' leg prosthesis offers new hope to amputees

I saw this today and think its impressive. So I share it. Very cool. It has multiple benefits and not much risk involved to the patient. Its expensive at the moment, but is trying to make more to get the cost down.

"It's like a second lease of life, like being reborn," Austrian amputee Wolfgang Rangger, told AFP ahead of Monday's media launch.

"It feels like I have a foot again. I no longer slip on ice and I can tell whether I walk on gravel, concrete, grass or sand. I can even feel small stones," he said.

Very cool, my husband could use one of those! I'm afraid that here in America, no matter how much the cost comes down, it will be out of reach for many, even with medical coverage.

I knew something like this was coming. I just didn't know it would be here this fast. Wow..........
