WASHINGTON -- Specialist Robert Loria of Middletown lost his arm in Iraq, but instead of a farewell paycheck from the U.S. Army he got a bill for nearly $1,800.

On Friday a platoon of New York lawmakers came to his rescue.

Loria found himself stuck in Fort Hood Texas this week when Army officials claimed he owed them money for travel expenses to a hospital and lost equipment ...

Loria was wounded in February. But as he was about to leave the Army this month, officials told him he had been overpaid for his time as a patient at a military hospital in the Washington area, and claimed he still owed money for travel between the hospital and Fort Hood, and $310 for items not found in his returned equipment.

Lawmakers help wounded soldier get home after dispute with Army

This is despicable. If it wasn't for the fact that Bush etc sent him out to Iraq, he wouldn't have needed to go to the hospital in the first place. And they have the gall to try to charge him ???

What next ?

Defence Secretary: "Soldier, you need to pay for a lawyer to fight your case"
Squaddie: "What case ?"
Defence Secretary: "Mr Bin Laden is suing you for the return of the bullet that is curently embedded in your chest"

Sarcasm ? Of course - but you never really know with these people.

This IS despicable, but maybe it will serve as a reminder to those out there who want to fight in "Bush's" war...

Yes, it is dispicable, but welcome to Capitalism, enjoy your stay. Oh, just don't expect anything good without paying for it.

And with the sueing culture developing, that sarcastic joke wouldn't suprise me. You just gotta find Mr.Laden first. Seriously, someone needs to slap those Idiots who sued the Tobacco companies and McDonalds. I would eat their, but I must say, they wern't FORCING Burgers down their throats now. WTF?

Ah, im ranting on. I'll stop.

But yeah, that is a disgrace. You may not Agree with the war, but have some sympathy for that guy. He got done, then done again by his country. Guess one less republican vote next time, huh?
