Georgians protest Russia-Abkhazia province deal

TBILISI, Georgia (AP) — Tens of thousands of people rallied in Georgia's capital on Saturday to protest a planned agreement between Russia and Georgia's separatist province.

The demonstrators were denouncing the deal to be signed by Russia and Abkhazia province as a step toward annexation of the Black Sea region by Moscow. Abkhazia has been running its own affairs since a separatist war in the early 1990s, and Moscow bolstered its military presence there following a 2008 Russian-Georgian war.

The proposed agreement envisages the creation of joint Russian and Abkhazian military forces.

The protesters carried posters saying "Stop Russia!" and crossed out pictures of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Many were carrying U.S., EU and Ukrainian flags, the latter to back Ukraine regarding Moscow's decisions to annex Crimea and support the pro-Russian insurgency in eastern Ukraine.

Looks like Russia is consolidating areas that belong to other countries - again.

I am curious how long it will take before Transnistria, Zaporizhzhya or Kherson is occupied and annexed.

Pro Westren,Mikheil Saakashvili supporters.

This is the same person you support i would assume.

Georgia Saakashvili while he was eating his tie, it shows it was him whom attacked the people in Abkhazia. With artillery shelling.

I am curious how long it will take before China, Russia or India is occupied and annexed by America claiming to bring Democracy and Freedom.

There you go fixed it for ya.

Looks like Russia is consolidating areas that belong to other countries

America the Bully is all innocent right?

As usual from the pictures seems like the protesters were picked up from near by farms and villages street alleys.

Hitler never had a girlfriend like Alina Maratovna Kabaeva. If he had he would have been a happy guy, instead of scowling all of the time.

Hahaha. Well said. Chances are they (BO & VP) both work for the same boss. Who probably has a lair...err..office on Wall St.

Remember the good old days when the Bush's had the Putin's over to Kennebunkport for some laughs and lobster? Or how about J. Kerry doing lunch with Assad?

Staged geopolitical drama is all this BS is. Which is not to say the consequences for the lay man aren't real.

Anyone who believes that this drama is real though is basically buying their crap hook, line and sinker. Why can't anyone (especially the frequent posters to these topics) ever answer me logically when I ask...why pick sides? One is by far not better than the other... So why pick sides?

In my eyes, anyone dumb enough to do so is obviously more than willing to throw it all away for the opportunity to be a sheep, or even a steak on a table by choice and consent. That's just my opinion though.

These little moves that Putin is being accused of might actually be true . If so then my hat goes off to him because with such small moves on the grand chessboard he may be nullifying what the other side of the coin is trying to do and may end up with a stale mate . It is interesting to watch and see the responses the other side makes .

Wow. You diss someone for not dealing with your thread... Are you a five year old or something?

Your posts cannot be read in isolation from other previous posts that you have made. You constantly attack Russia, Russians, and President Putin.

Therefore, when you start another thread pushing your hatred - calling Putin "Hitler 2.0" is infantile and plainly wrong, and an incitement to hate - you must expect to deal with a rebuttal of your long-term attitude.

You ignore Agent_USA_Supporter's assertions.

For example, you accuse Russia of:

consolidating areas that belong to other countries

Yet you cannot accept the logical response of putting Russian action in a global context, e.g. the comparison of Russian actions with US actions. You really think that is not addressing the OP?

I really do wonder if ATS is the place for you. Maybe you should join a debating club. On the other hand, your utter inability to demonstrate flexible thinking and adaptive arguments would probably see you politely asked to stay away.

And do you have any evidence to back-up your claims?

Apart from your insightful opinions, that is.

If you have some honey , the Bear will come get it , no matter what . It's in the nature of the creature .
Everyone in Central Asia , Caucasia and Eastern Europe already knows ; once the Bear is in your garden , you may kiss all the honey goodbye .

Evidence? The fact they are actually doing it isn't evidence enough? What about Putins speeches over the years where he has openly declared this to be the plan? No? Then what, I have to ask, is "evidence" enough to convince you?
