Ian Dury was an artist , vocalist , actor and in my opinion a musical genius , for those who know of him I present this little snippet of nostalgia and for those who don't I give you the opportunity to discover this great musician.

I discovered Ian Dury in the late 70s as a young punk rocker , even then with my tastes into the harder punk bands Ian Dury and The Blockheads stood out as something a bit special , Ian's voice and stage persona was unlike anything I had seen or heard before and even today the music still holds up in my opinion.

He contracted polio at age 7 which limited his ability to move on stage and led to the Ian Dury we all new and loved.

What A Waste was as far as I can remember the first Ian Dury song I heard and is still my favorite.

Gone but never forgotten.

Fully agree...

Gruff hard exterior with mocking marshmallow centre, a true cockney wordsmith....... a 'pommy dylan'...

Seen the movie?

Just listen to 'You'll see glimpses" ... beautiful sentiments...

Sadly missed
