I would be worried about the interior of the barrel holding up. And lose that much weight and you gain a ton of kick...

Kevlar biweave is a specific way of weaving the kevlar together. It changes both the rigidity and heat disipation value of it.

Carbon is both stiffer and stronger than steel so its simply used to reduce the amount of steel and retain the overall stiffness and strength just like titanium etc.

Carbon wrapped barrels in light use work quite well in 223 for really heavy use they have not yet been proven and its simpler and cheaper to just buy better ammo and keep it clean and don't try to over use the barrel once the accuracy starts to go, replace it.
