Juneau police tell wrong parents son died

Police in a small Alaska town mistakenly told a couple their son had been killed in a car accident, leading to a joyous scene just hours later. In Palmer on Thursday, at about 03:00 an officer told Karen and Jay Priest their son Justin, 29, had been killed. The devastated couple drove to Justin Priest's girlfriend's home to inform her, when he greeted them at the door.

Imagine how they would have felt once they saw him though. Literally jumping for joy, and they would have treasured their son more after the incident. So the son hit the jackpot.

Those parents just went through everything horrific that it is possible to endure, and the greatest joy that they could ever feel, all in one day.

Pretty amazing, really, when you think about it.

They went from extremely sad to extremely happy.

I'm not sure if this event is good or bad for them.

Most of the time we don't appreciate what we have until we don't have it. This time the parents will cherish his son much more because they felt what it would be like not having him.
