At least some of these are, others I'm not quite sure you would want to eat!

I ran across these beautiful food art sculptures this morning looking for pumpkin carving ideas for Halloween. I love the fact this type of art has a shelf life making it similar to the qualities of a flower, so wonderful yet so short lived.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Thanks, for browsing. . . some of these I'm going to try out on the kids, maybe then they will actually eat what I cook them.
Please add some more to the thread if you find any good ones!

Awesome!

That strawberry carving is the best, how hard would that have been?

Wow! I am marveling at their talent and imagination. I loved them all. The cockatoo on the cycle was mind-blowing. Others were simply really beautiful. But how does one carve an apple like that without having it go brown? Truly wonderful, OP. S&F.

That one is cute. What's the problem ?
Can't you see it topping a fruit salad after a little league game?

Lemon juice. Same with most cut fruit. Lemon juice stops the oxidation.a reply to: aboutface

There are some beautiful pieces there!

I have doubts about the melon near the top on the left.
Melons that I am familiar with have a void in the center that holds the seeds.
I am not sure how a person could carve the melon as shown without having it collapse.
