Sorry, but the wound to your hand is not MRSA. That was a bad case of impetigo/cellulitus caused by an insect bite. MRSA causes necrotic tissue and does not grow back. It literally eats the flesh away. Severe cases need skin grafts and there will be permanent scarring.

Colloidal Silver (as found in Gold Bond Premium) will work on all cases of CA-MRSA but the most severe should be treated with Vancomycin. Start cleansing your body with pure molasses and baking soda..........live healthy!

Maybe you should talk to the infectious disease specialists that cultured and diagnosed the bacteria as MRSA. If you want, I can send the photo of the wound before it was sutured. The hand surgeon told me that I was so close to losing my hand because it had almost reached the bone. There was damage to ligaments, tendons and a nerve. I have limited mobility in that finger and very little feeling in it.

MRSA is not always a necrotizing bacteria.

Necrotizing fasciitis is a life-threatening infection requiring urgent surgical and medical therapy. Staphylococcus aureus has been a very uncommon cause of necrotizing fasciitis, but we have recently noted an alarming number of these infections caused by community-associated methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA).

See that? Very uncommon cause of necrotizing fasciitis.
National Institute of Health

Oh, and if it wasn't MRSA, why the heck did the hospital have me in isolation after it was diagnosed as MRSA, and on 3 subsequent hospitalizations... until I had three negative nasal swab cultures???

Yes, please post a pic.

FWIW! There are thousands of cases of misdiagnosing occurring yearly. Your doctor was wise to take precautions. As far as speaking with your infectious specialists, well you shouldn't assume that the person on the other end of this blog isn't knowledgeable.

I'm glad your well now.

My cousin has it. Got it from the hospital post surgery (they tried to give a b.s. excuse because they made him wait 3 weeks before seeing him after he complained of it). It caused osteomyelitis, killed the bone, and they had to do another surgery on his hip. He is in the hospital right now and has been in and out for months.

If he's up for it I will have him write his experience and post it for him.

MRSA can look like any form of cellulitis, that Is any infection of The skin. Some may look like simple pimples, although many pimples grouped together Is more like it. The first spot I got started as a simple enough looking pimple on The back of My leg. A few totally unnecessary attempts to pop it later and I Was looking at a huge spot The size of a Good sized chocolate chip cookie on My leg. And that Was just The white headed portion. My calf Was swollen twice it's normal size. The doctors explained that to The eye there's No telling MRSA from your average skin infection. The proof Is in The petri dish. After having a few of these you learn what to be on The lookout for. Skin that Is very warm to The touch, swelling, overly painful, and The tell-tail giant Whitehead are what would send me to The doctors to have one drained. I probably had 6 or 7 before it finally subsided.

I have been granted permission to post a link to the photo of my hand. This photo is after the surgery to remove dead tissue, but before it was closed with sutures two weeks later.

Wow!! That's a beaut!! I don't have any pics of The back side of My leg after they cut out The dead tissue, But knowing what My leg felt like after The surgery I can imagine your hand felt real nice!! Glad they gotcha all fixed up. I Was worried hearing some of The stories about having MRSA forever, But after a couple small reoccurances I've been MRSA free going on ten years now. Did you have any troubles with MRSA after The surgery on your hand??

I had positive nasal swabs at the hospital at the beginning. I wouldn't know what reason they would have to lie to me.

I have a question about it.. it's obviously super contagious though severity varies person to person (also ive wondered why brown recluse bites tend to cause mrsa), but how do you actually get it? Like you hear of college football locker room outbreaks.. is it viable though sweat? Does it just have to get on rather than in you?

MRSA Is a naturally occurring bacteria that Is literally everywhere. All it takes Is a puncture of The skin anywhere The bacteria may be present. MRSA Is just The anti-biotic resistant version of The Staph bacteria we've been dealing with for ages. Over prescribing anti-biotics, and people not finishing prescribed anti-biotic treatments are believed to have led to The bacterias resistance to normal anti-biotics. You hear of outbreaks in sports locker rooms due to The closeness of so many people/ sharing of exercise machines and such. I Was given IV Vanciyman. Not sure about The spelling of that one. The doctors told me that Was one of very few anti-biotic that are still effective against MRSA. CLEANLINESS Is The key to keeping MRSA at bay.
