Thanks for posting. I saw these on PBS in 1982. I was 11, and we'd watch these as a family, then Carl Sagan's Cosmos would come on and I'd watch that with my dad (my mom was too much a creationist for it.)


Me to. Good times, life was so much simpler back then

There are jokes aplenty here, but it's not really a comedy (if it was, it wouldn't really stand up).

It's Arthur Dent's weird, trippy dream; he walks about in pyjamas and dressing gown throughout the whole thing.

I think it's a brilliant literary device for a sci-fi story, because it allows the author to explore quirky ideas that would otherwise be dismissed as too far-fetched.

The reader/viewer is introduced to bizarre concepts in a comic setting, and you think, "Maybe...who knows?"
