Blake Wardell, 26, put on flak vest and told friend to fire at him. She missed the protective panel and shot him in the chest, killing him.

Flak vests are for defensive protection in case of a dangerous situation, not for idiots to target practice on themselves.

Im sorry but a FLAK VEST isnt going to stop a bullet. A BULLET RESISTANT VEST MIGHT if its properly armored and set up. SOmeone has seen too many WW2 movies.
