Yea I'm worried most about the clones allowing/causing a virus to mutate.

The cloning of pets raises so many ethical issues: most cloned animals are born with deformities and illnesses and it takes several clones to get one right. Many animals are used as surrogate mothers to grow the embryos...etc.

I am against it for two reasons: first it's unnatural and it does not benefit society or animals at all.
Second: fear.....if they are openly cloning pets now (cats are next) when will it be legal to clone humans?

Is there a sequel out? I remember the movie called The 6th Day, but I never heard of the 7th day.

Anyway I agree with Arnold's character in the 6th day that cloning may not be such a great idea, but we may not be able to prevent it. There will be demand for cloned pets.

If they're doing this now with animals, i'm sure in some dark labs somewhere they have already cloned some humans with 3 asses or some other such thing.

I once talked to a friend of a friend who is a geneticist about Dolly and I had asked him how the other animals behaved around it. He said there was no difference but i'm sure that there would have to be some problems...maybe not seen straight away.

I for one wouldn't clone any animal. As sad as it is when a pet dies, it's part of life and you just have to enjoy the time that you have with them as much as you can.
