Another example of "temporary insanity"....

Chris Kissell

HOUSTON -- A man who carved out his girlfriend's eyes is ready to return to society.

That's what the doctors who evaluated 29-year-old Nathan Dale Campbell say.

But the doctors, who say Campbell was legally insane when he committed the assault, also said his release should be on limited basis.

Court officials agreed.

Campbell may be released from a mental hospital next month.

He must have been really, really, really ugly.

So he solved the problem.

For her, aleast.

Seems a common way in America to prove insanity. Say a deamon made you do it.

Anyway he should not be allowed out.

Eye for an eye.

I dont know why the hell they are letting this guy out. He should be in a mental institution or something. I mean you have to be a really sick SOB in order to gouge a person's eyes out.

"the victim's family is concerned about his release from Kerrville State Hospital."

State Hospitals generally indicate stronger manifestations of psychopathology. If they are going to release him, they had better put him into group home for at least a few months. If they don't, his chances for relapse will nearly double.

"Eye for an eye." - Maddas

You say an eye for an eye, well then shouldnt they just poke out his eyes and release him then? This would make more sense than holding him captive..

Yes gouging out his eyes would feel good, but only temporarly.

They should'nt let him out.

But if they are going to let him out, its probably better to just gouge his eyes out.

Or bring back lobotomyies.

The march of the sick continues...

QUINCY, Mass. (AP) A Milton man has been indicted for manslaughter in connection with the November beating death of a Quincy grandfather after a dispute over abandoned golf balls.

A Norfolk grand jury on Thursday indicted Robert Carnathan, 54, on charges he killed Donald King, 79, during an altercation at President's Golf Course in Quincy on Nov. 9.

Authorities said the two men both lived near the golf course and Carnathan regularly collected and sold lost golf balls. Prosecutors said they started fighting because King tried to take some of the abandoned balls. Prosecutors said Carnathan threw stones at King and beat him on the head and legs with a cane.

Just goes to show you that the justice system in this country needs a major overhaul. last time i checked, a 9 mm bullet costs way less than a dollar. seems a whole lot more practical then spending millions in the jail systems on these animals.

If they're legally insane, fine, they're not guilty by reason of insanity. But make them serve a sentence in a loonie bin that's as long as what their prison sentence would have been if they were sane.

The parade of the sick continues...

PHILADELPHIA - Jason Sweeney had money in his pocket and plans to see his teen-age sweetheart when he headed out the door on the last Friday in May.
For a 16-year-old from a blue-collar section of Philadelphia, the end of the work week couldn't have seemed much brighter. But he never made it back home that night.

According to police, a girl - whom his mother described as Sweeney's first girlfriend - lured him to a vacant gravel path by the Delaware River where three teen-age boys were waiting. They attacked Sweeney with a hammer and hatchet until his heart stopped, authorities said.

The four teen-agers - after a group hug - then robbed the victim, dividing up the $500 that Sweeney had earned at his construction job and went on a drug binge, police said.

something kinda like that happened to a friend of mine. he was hangin out with buddies and they took up a small collection for a beer run. when they got to the alley of the liquor store the two guys that were with him beat him to death and stole the cash. nobody knows exactly how much it was but it couldn't have been over fifty dollars.

money murders are the worst it shows how in this society dollars are more important than human life.

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The prosecution's case in the trial of Chante Mallard appears to be moving faster than anticipated, and testimony may reportedly wrap up as early as Wednesday.

Tuesday, Mallard's ex-boyfriend took the stand telling prosecutors he hesitated in helping dispose of Greg Biggs' body.

Clete Jackson testified that he believed the entire incident was an accident, and that he and his cousin Herbert Tyrone Cleveland removed Biggs' body and dumped it in a public park hoping someone would find the body soon.

The two have already pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence. Jackson was sentenced to 10 years; Cleveland, nine years.

My exwife tried this stunt. Thing is she should have picked bigger, meaner boyfriends. The truth is that this sort of thing may work every now and then but in a large % of the time, it fails miserably leaving the woman sadly dissapointed with her new fella(s). Ladies, do yourselves and your new guy(s) a favor and just move on. yeah, you may get to see your ex get the crap kicked out of him but you may not be the only one whos made new friends and you may get to see your new guy get his which almost always puts you at the disadvantage in the post-breakup relationship. if you're through with the guy, better to just let go and move on. Live and let live..

The defense being used by the Ft. Worth woman accused of running down a pedestrian and then leaving him to die embedded in her car windshield has outraged the San Antonio chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Chante MAllard says she should not be convicted of murder because she had been drinking and taking drugs before the incident and because she was 'driving in a drunken haze' she was not responsible for her actions.

"It should not be a defense to any crime, no matter what it is, that they were too drunk to know what they were doing," said Bette Berns, legislative liason and public relations director for the local MADD chapter.

She says the very fact that the defense is being tried on a jury indicates Texas attitudes still see drunk driving as 'an excuse and not a crime.'
