Alert raised for Alaskan Kanaga Volcano

The Alaska Volcano Observatory has raised the alert level for a volcano in the remote Aleutian Islands. Scientists on Saturday said possible explosive activity and a likely ash cloud indicate new unrest at Kanaga Volcano, leading it to raise the volcano alert level from normal to advisory. The observatory says volcanic tremor was detected at about 6:23 a.m. Saturday. The unrest indicates a possibility for sudden explosions of ash to occur at any time, and ash clouds exceeding 20,000 feet above sea level may develop. Ash clouds above 20,000 feet from Alaska volcanoes are a threat to trans-Pacific air carriers. Kanaga Volcano is located about 1,215 miles southwest of Anchorage in the western Aleutian Islands.

Seems pretty vague, but since the scientist claim that there is now a possibility for it to erupt at any time I thought a heads up is appropriate

Gotta be related somehow the the recent eruption in Japan.....
I think the pressure is building inside earth from heat developed by extra radiation from the sun.....
Or possibly it can create matter atomically as it passes through earth???
At any rate, the core of the earth is heating maybe....
or expanding maybe?
Or perhaps some greater force of gravity is having a tidal effect on the magma....(shades of the dwarf star???)

i remember the fires in so cal it rained ash for 2+ days

im sure we wont get much if any ash fallout

I can add a bit more information on this, from inside sources. I was informed that this was an interesting development, discovered by a seismic analyst in Anchorage. Kanaga is monitored by a total of 6 stations, 3 of which are in such bad shape they might as well be considered dead. The other 3 are experiencing bad problems too. The analyst, through all the bad data, discovered an anomalous event in the records, which led to further checking of GPS information, which then led them to discover an ash plume release from space! And that's how they know. They then raised the alert level. Pretty cool huh?

Kanaga Volcano Acting Up

For months, scientists have been on watch for a possible eruption at Mount Cleveland. Now, another Aleutian volcano is acting up, too.

The Alaska Volcano Observatory issued an advisory for Kanaga Volcano after it experienced tremors and released a small ash cloud on Saturday. Kanaga lies just 16 miles west of Adak, but so far there are no reports that this weekend’s explosive activity has affected residents. The community suffered disruptions to air travel when the volcano last erupted in 1995.

The aviation warning for Kanaga is at code-yellow, while Cleveland remains at orange. Both volcanoes are located along major international flight paths.
