If you are over 40 you have probably heard Ike's outgoing address. He gave a warning to "alert and knowledgeable citizens" about the MIC(Military Industrial Complex):



He foresaw the dangerous implications of this entity. And he was right. Just look at the power that the MIC holds in American society today. Listen to his words, more than once if you have to.

And he was a general and president, so he really knew what he was talking about on the MIC... but to no avail??

Hope not.

3.5 million in the MIC employ in 1961, just think of how huge it has grown to today.
And he was worried then.

Well the old guy did warm you US citizens.
It still did happen.
I fear you are to late now to do anything about it.

Worth a listen. Funny that the people he warned have gone on to demand security, and bounce up and down in their seats when told we'll "kill our enemies".

I wonder what the warmongers on ATS would say about this? "Baloney"?
