Colin Powell expressed the belief that Bin laden is still alive (he says he has no proof) and that his groups remains a threat.

story.news.yahoo.com
WASHINGTON - Three years after the Sept. 11 attacks, Secretary of State Colin Powell (news - web sites) said Friday he believes Osama bin Laden (news - web sites) is still alive although he has no proof and thinks his al-Qaida terror group remains a threat.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Powell said al-Qaida still has the capacity to rebuild itself and thus remains a threat, although he asserted it has been decimated by the detentions and killings of key leaders.

Of bin Laden whose No. 2 deputy released a new videotape Thursday threatening the United States Powell said: "We believe he is still alive. I can't prove that. But he clearly is hiding as best he can. He is on the run. He is not popping up on television and he is not showing himself in a way that he could be captured."

Shortly after Powell spoke, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said in a speech in Washington that bin Laden, "if he's alive, is spending a whale of a lot of time trying to not get caught."

One point that Powell makes is that Bin laden cannout run all the time and coordinate attacks as well. However, Im not buying into the fact that he does no know about Bin ladens fate. Unless the Neo-Cans have shut him so far out he is entirely dependant ont he state deprtment's intellignece network and is not gettin info from the neo-con controlled DIA, NSA and CIA.

Actually is not doubt that Al-queda is still alive and well as an organization, they just probably split around the nations and they are just waiting for the signs to operate.

The CIA trained Bin laden well IMHO, no doubt self contained cells and sleeper agents lurk everywhere.

For all we know they have already gotten Bin Laden and they are holding him until the day before elections. Our government is crooked. How can they not find a 6'5? man on dialysis in Afghanistan. I don't believe they can't find him...I believe either they already have him or they don't want to find him. Afterall, the bushes and ladens are close family friends.

But, if the United States were to ever roll out Bin Laden for prosecution, wouldn't that be too revealing? What I mean is that Bin Laden has worked with CIA organizations, is related to the Bush's financially etc. If he was to appear in a court, would not he say something that could be detrimental to the whole network? CIA-Alqaeda-Mossad-ISI-Bin Ladens-Bush's-9/11. The point is: If they decide to even roll out the real Osama, it will be too much for the whole network of deception. Osama is a key player in the game, and I believe he has a bigger boss that he reports to which would involve key figures in the United States and its agencies.

Osama is probably still alive and working under direction of non-Islamic agencies.

You have a point, IMMORTAL, if Bin-Ladden was a CIA US operative, then he will have to much information on the CIA dealings that US will not want rest of the world to know, perhaps could be to damaging to US to be exposed.
