It's obvious that they planned to do it. When youth football players go to highschool football games, they typically wear their game jerseys. It's not a "gang". It's a bunch of like minded individuals dressing like each other. Our schools wrestling team wears suits and ties to their wrestling matches, does that give them a mafia image?

The bottom line is this. Were these kids looking to make trouble? Not necessarily, but they were looking to make a point. Being a rival school, i'm sure there is alot of animosity between both parties. Schools shouldn't have as much power over what kids wear as they do, and this principal should definantly be reprimanded for his actions after telling them to get their own rides if nothing else.

Riiight. Go ahead and tell me what minority I belong to then that was the sole reason for the pseudo-bullying. It's so "obvous", after all.

I typically don't pay too much attention to where i stick my apostrophy at when i'm typing, nor do i bother with proofreading my forum posts. If such things as that offened you so much, perhaps the internet isn't the place for you? You've never seen one of those sentence games where the letters are out of order in each word, and yet, the sentence is still leadgible to most fairly intelligent people? I bet you really struggle with those.

Do you really think I would've brought up the fact that you don't type in proper English if you weren't trying to demonize practices that aren't offered primarily in English?
. I was just trying to give you some linear perspective, but I can see there are some deeper problems with your "logic", and that they always suit you the best and ignore the consequences to everyone else..

I'm sorry, I have a problem with being asked which language i'd like to use before i start a transaction. I also can't stand it when i call my gas company or water company and they first words that the recording says are in Spanish.

That's insane.

I don't get this at all. Illegal immigrants can be of any damn race, and the issue is the fact that people come into this country illegally! If the majority of illegal immigrants coming here are latino, then they are creating the image of a race issue.

Only people who are illegal immigrants seeing these shirts would possibly have had a problem, and I doubt it would have caused a scene. Do you think an illegal immigrant would have asserted themselves into a confrontation over the shirt, proud to defend their illegal status? I don't think so. Illegal immigration is ILLEGAL, and if someone wants to wear a border patrol shirt and make a statement about illegal immigration let them have their free speech. As this is not an issue of race, nor is it a touchy political subject. Illegal immigration is ILLEGAL. It's a frickin' law no matter what country you came from. If you came here legally, you should be proud of it and the shirt wouldn't make you bow your head in shame or defend those that have nothing to be proud of.

Wearing a shirt that has fundamentally non offensive wording yet implies having an issue with an illegal act is what these kids were doing. That would be the same as wearing a "Don't Do Drugs" t-shirt to a function where a bunch of meth addicts are present. Let's not offend the tweakers! If it's wrong it's wrong, no matter who you are.

You've obviously never been discriminated against.

These kids wore these shirts because there was going to be a high population of Latinos there. Anyone not an illegal immigrant might see it and think "HEY! Just because I'm Latino means that I'm an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT?!?! Ignorant BRATS!"

This isn't a huge leap of thought, people.

That's like saying "Only an effeminate gay man would be offended by a shirt that said '[inappropriate phrase removed]

or

"Only greedy white men would be offended by the statement 'White men are greedy slavedrivers'"

So you're going to try and lump an obscure state law about sexual positions into the same level of national priority as immigration law? Do i really have to point out the flawed logic in that one?

You're right, we did not treat with the Native Americans fairly. However, I can also say that we conquered them, same way we conquered the british when it came to the revolution. We fought for this and and won it, therefore, it's ours. If you think that "Jose" is spending every damn penny of his money, then you also are utterly mistake. "Jose" sends quite a large amount of the money he makes here back across the border to his family in Mexico. If you'd like, the next time I'm at my local grocery store i'll take a picture of him sending it by Western Union. He works at a local tree farm.

So what you're telling me is that you support a freely open border where anyone can come in and easily be declared a citizen of this country. That's a straight path to the U.S. becoming a thirid world country. We don't have enough jobs to support our curent population, let alone what would happen if we did something like that.

Let's talk about flawed logic then. I think anyone familiar with logic can see through nearly every one of your claims.

1. I was speaking about the selective enforcement of laws and the racist assumptions and false statistics upon which immigration laws are given priority for enforcement. What makes the issue of sexual positions more obscure than immigration? Only the fact that at this point in history, people don't care ANYMORE how other people have sex. At one point they obviously did though, or else why do we have that law? The question is when will people stop caring how others get into "our" country? How does an illegal immigrant affect you personally? If they took your job, then it's probably because either your employer views you only as a means to an end or because you just were not that great at your job. Neither of those things are the immigrant's fault.

2. "We conquered Native Americans, and we took their land, so it's ours." I think the arrogance of that line of reasoning is self-evident. Perhaps you are threatened by the possibility that illegal immigrants are here to conquer our land and make it theirs? If so I would say that's guilty paranoia, not legal righteousness.

3. I admit that yes in fact many immigrants send money to their families, including my girlfriend, but they still have to buy groceries, gas, pay rent, etc. They pay into the system, and many live with very little financial cushion. Sending money to other countries is not spending it? Sending money out of the country is only a problem because America's exports are severely lacking, which is once again not the immigrant's fault. In any case if you think people sending money to their families in other countries is a significant drain on our economy, I think you have overlooked some variables.

4. Free and open borders causing the US to become a third world country is just plain slippery slope argumentation. I'm sure we will all become cannibals and see the end of civilized society too if we open our borders.

5. No we don't have enough jobs to support the income needs of the population, but perhaps opening our borders to people will actually have a revolutionary effect on our economy, wherein people can actually get jobs not for the sake of income but because there is an actual need for that job to be done. But that's socialist, so I'm sure everyone would much prefer to do a mindless job just to rub two coins together and call themselves patriotic.

1. Illegal immigrants effect me personally through my the taxes that i pay. I pay for the free health care they get, I pay for the police and firemen that protect them.
2. If you look back through history at the establishment of every country in the world today? I'm sure at some point you'll find that that land was ruled by someone else who in turn conquered it for themselves.
3. The difference here is that your girlfriend is a tax paying, legal, US citizen. Alot of Americans live with very little cushion as well yet still have to pay taxes to the government.
4. You're right. No one can say for sure what the result of that would be.
5. I don't believe there has been an example of socialism being successfully implemented. Also, you can't say for sure that that would have the desired effect on the economy.

If you had read that whole post? I stated why it was obvious that you were bullied. It's nothing to do with the "minority" (which technically anyone could claim to be some form of minority) that you are, and everything to do with the fact that you have a raging superiority complex. The attitude that you get with everyone that doesn't express the same view that you have? That's the obvious reason why you got put into lockers numerous times.

And those who typically feel the need to attack others spelling/grammatically errors on internet forums are general people who've been proven wrong and are grasping at straws.

How is that insane? Seeing as English is the primary language of most Americans, i'd say it logically makes sense that when you call a company in America to do business in regards to an issue in America that you'd be speaking english.

Why would any in the hispanic community find this offensive....if they are here legally. The shirt is in reference to the border partrol that is funded by you and I to prevent illegals from entering as well as minimizing the movement of narcotics and weapons across our borders.

Again, this is a story about a school whose apparent mission is to indoctrinate young minds on the politically correct way to think. Out of the links provided, I have yet to read anything that asked these young men why they wore the shirts. The articles are written from one point of view only, with a very clear 'think like we do, or else' mentality.

And the only racism being displayed is the one being insinuated by the school, adminitrators, faculty and staff. How does a student wearing a shirt with the words "Border Patrol" make one feel unsafe?

This is political correctness run amok.

How you draw any of the same lines to ANY shirts of the sort to one that simply says "Border Patrol"

Is beyod me.......

If they are illegal immigrants, and they are offended.........guess what , i could care less.......come here LEGALLY then you have no reason to be offended now do you?

Border Patrol agents dont descriminate against anyone, they check EVERYONE that comes across the border........

Not anywhere near the same as the "F*gs" shirt comment............

I lived in Del Rio texas for QUITE a long time right on the border, and no one there had any issues with the border patrol EXCEPT illegals........

Infact most of the agents were.............*gasp* Mexican or LATINO whatever you chose to use in your PC lingo!

Where in the phrase Border Patrol does it say anything about Latinos? It's not a direct attack on anyone. At best it's making an implication towards something, but nowhere does it directly attack a group like the two examples you used.

Um wow, when I was a kid I was quiet and reserved. I was attacked solely on my minority, you know absolutely nothing about me and quite frankly your ATS membership should be reconsidered for your blatant idiocy and inflammatory ignorance in that statement alone. Seriously, grow the hell up; you know NOTHING about my youth. How dare you.

Ahahaha proven wrong? Where? And I've already stated I'm not "attacking your grammar" (that's you being PC) I'm trying to give you perspective on how you sound to people who can't speak English. Unfortunately you're obviously not intelligent enough to make that connection even though I've pointed it out to you six freaking times now. Unbelievable. Maybe the problem is not that I have a "superiority complex", but that you are incredibly and ruthlessly ignorant.

This is why I stopped respecting your posts. Because if you can't find it blatantly obvious that a group of kids planned to wear "Border Patrol" shirts to an event that had a high Latino population to stir sh# up then there's no point of talking to you at all.

P.S. I'm still waiting for that source and quote I asked you for 6 pages ago. Stop showing up without it and expecting me to give you half an ounce of respect.

Christ, you seriously still don't understand where in this situation the shirt would be deemed inappropriate? All I have to say is those little punks are lucky their principal has the sense to avoid nasty situations. It might not have done much in this situation but at least we know he/she has a good head on their shoulders.
