Though I’m in complete agreement the ‘oldest trade in the book’ should be legalized - there’s a possibility for some deep ramifications.

So you’re a prostitute in a legalized ‘house of’ or even on your own.

What so you NEED to be LEGAL?

A National Health Card, a National I.D and maybe even, chipped ‘for your own good’...

See where I’m going with this?

It shouldn’t be illegal. Absolutely not. But I don’t see how it can be legalized, and stay safe, without some type of ‘Nationalizing’ and that? I’m totally against.

So often we verbalise
that something "should be legalised"
when what we really desire is for it it to be decriminalised
in our confusion each citizen becomes ever more ostracised
To bad we have fogotten about libert-y

Good quote...ending should say Liberaltized or something like that.

Someone buy me a vowel.

I had to think about it a bit before I posted on this thread, but all things considered I have an opinion about legalized prostitution...and for lack of will power and interest...I am going to share it.

As you might of guessed (or maybe not) jerryznv is Nevada, although it has been mistaken for jerry's envy, that's another story completely, but Nevada is home to the famous whore houses. The Calico Club, Mustang Ranch, Green Lantern, etc...and as much as it embarrasses me now days...I have been to every single whore house in the state of Nevada. Every single one!

Now before you start thinking that I am some kind of weird sicko...let me explain. My first years in college, in Reno Nevada, my friend and I decided to take a trip out to the Mustang Ranch and check it out...young and adventurous you could say, and while we were out there we bought t-shirts with every whore house in the state listed on the back.

We made it a mission (and to this day I could not tell you why) to visit every whore house listed and get the madame to sign the back next to her business name. We got all of them knocked off the list in a summer, and a ton of stories to tell...I am sure you can use your imagination...but we spent 10's of thousands of dollars in a summer...suffice it to say.

An experience that makes my view biased about prostitution, and prostitutes too. I think that the oldest known profession should be legal...it is far safer, and everybody is happy.

For the record...that adventure was many years ago, and I am happily married and settled down now, but what a great adventure it was back then...made me smile just telling that tale!

I think it should be illegal, Purely on the fact that it’s a lure for men and women. Men like to have lots of sex and women like to have lots of money. But the act is not because they want sex for women it’s the money. The flaw that someone would sell a child or themselves or kill another person and get money is wrong morally.
Young girls will see it as how life should be so they will do it for money and men will just degrade women also thinking it should be that way. Plus STDS spread faster from prostitutes.

However, if women want to just have sex without any cost. Then I am fine by this. Yes, I would still consider it morally wrong, but that is in their own right and all they gain is pleasure.

Golddiggers or prostitutes?

Pretty sure women sleep with men for their money regardless of prostitution laws.

I really couldn't care on this subject, and other similar subjects.....So whatever, legalize prostitution, its not like it would change much of what is going on, but in name. And while there at it let gays get married, it's not like marriage is something special. # even let those who want to marry there pets, or trees, or walls, or bridges, or any number of inanimate objects, or animals go ahead and do that.

So whatever, its all the same thing, and even with laws against all those things, they still will be going on. Even with all the law's against prostitution It's not like it made that much of a difference of getting rid of prostitution..... Or did it?

The only real thing that laws seem to be good at is sweeping things that the majority don't want to see under the rug, and really that's what most of them laws are for. That and control by proxy for the elites, over the masses.

I just want to add. Everybody knows, renting and filming a porn movie is legal. So I guess as long as you a videotaping your sex act with the prostitute (or porn actress I guess) its makes it legal, so make sure, if you hiring a prostitute to have a video camera with you, which apparently makes it legal then

latenight logic troll says" robbing a bank is illegal; "filming" a bankrobbery is legal...l don'think you'd "getoff "on that one in court

g'night...

Eeh... that just doesn't compute at all. Bank robbery vs. sex? If you make film where a bank robbery occurs and it is done by you and someone you hired to play the teller how is it illegal?
I've been involved in many many projects that would make me a big time criminal by that logic
I'm sure you were just tired

I've never had a prostitute, probably never will but I like having that choice.

Let's support prostitution for all the kids out there that have prostitute parents. They love their moms and Dads too.

Check, good deed for the day.

Folks have said what I would've said on this thread, kudos to the OP!

Can anybody explain to me why it's illegal? What is the rational? I can't seem to find any.

Selling other persons is. Selling themselves is not, it harms no third person.

Plus STDS spread faster from prostitutes.

Another reason to legalise and regulate the industry, with mandatory STD checks.

I did not know it was illegal? But perhaps that's because i am from the Netherlands

I think its cheaper to live your life with prostitutes than having a girlfriend
( I am not using prostitutes for the record. I need love)

Apparently, in America, "land of the free", it is. I was also very surprised when I learned that.

I'm curious, for all you men who want prostitution to be legal, how would you feel if your Mom, wife, or sister decided to be a prostitute?

My father was a hired killer (professional soldier) and I see no reason why that was worse than if he was a gigolo or my mum was a prostitute.
If my wife decided to be a prostitute I image we would have words, but I don't see the same problem idf one of us decided to visit a prostitute I asume (!) that we are in agreement and that the prostitute is one by choice.

EDIT: should we not be in agreement then I or she wouldn't do it.

Because it says so in the Bibl.... OH! Wait a minute. Didn't Jesus defend a prostitute?

I have to disagree,
***snip***
In my opinion,( and that's all this is ), no well adjusted, normal person chooses a lifestyle like prostitution, its a means to an end , and probably the lowest a person can go in regards to their self worth

If I like sex why shouldn't I get paid for it.

As for being the lowest is a matter of opinion and morals. In many countries for centuries it was/is a trade like being a roadsweeper or a banker. The prostitute's self worth is measured by the way she/he is treated by the surrounding society. Make it a trade then some will respect them and some won't.

Ploticians that are politicians for personal gain - some are respected som are not.
Bush - some respected him - most doesn't.

It's all in the mind of the person who judges.

And of course - in a societey that takes care of it's own people and especially the weak and unfortunate ones won't have the problem of the "means to an end".
