I'm not sure if it's making national news or not, but the Iowa/Nebraska/South Dakota floods are a HUGE deal here. Thousands of people are being displaced from their homes, and the Missouri river is continuing to rise.
PICS
siouxcityjournal.com...

Gov. Branstad has issued a disaster proclamation for 6 Iowa counties so far, and they've closed down I-29 going into Dakota Dunes SD to all non residents. Even volunteers can't get in to help sandbag. I guess what I'd like to know is if anyone outside of the immediate area has heard much about us?

Well, I'm in Omaha and despite the fact that flooding is going on around us, even in parts of the city, there isn't much media coverage on the issue.

2nd.

That's kinda what i had been hearing. I have friends in KC and they haven't even really heard about it. It's a shame. I feel like this is a big deal and it's being swept under the rug!!
