I think everyone wanted that to happen. But the editors of some MSNs told them to stop reporting on the issue and peoples minds forgot. Now to be fair i guess they did send some scientists. But lets be honest japan has only 1 oil field ,hardly enough to consider to much involvement,which is now a natural monument.


Production stopped in 1955, with the advent of cheap, imported oil. On November 28, 1980 the oil field was proclaimed a natural monument and protected cultural property by the Shizuoka Prefectural government, and was transformed into a public park.
