I agree with you, I said. Just playing devils advocate. Compared with things now, Saddam was obviously was keeping better order, the place is a warzone now, with the public services not any better. Things are in a real mess right now.

The election in January(?) is the get out clause, so it will have to go well. But Iraq could be in chaos for many years.
