The 450D is the XSi. I think you will absolutely love this camera. It will do anything that you need and more. It has many, many settings including bracket photography and is a fast DSLR. The main lens has the is system (Image stabilization) and is a very good quality lens. I haven't used the tamron lenses but I have heard good things about them.

The main advice I can give with this camera is to read the manual. It has a lot of features and most people only use a very small percentage of them. I hope you enjoy it and if you need any help with it, feel free to ask.

Hey!

Went browsing for cameras this weekend, didn't buy anything yet...

Had a good look at the Cannon D500, came with a lens(not sure which one) a bag and tripod.
The only thing is, it has HD Video capability...which I don't really want on the camera. I'm thinking of maybe getting the one that came out just before the D500 but they didn't have any in stock.

The HD Video pushes the price up, and I'll never use it....

Try the Canon eos450D - no HD on it.

It's the one I'll probably get...

Ha ha! That's the one I eventually decided on....

www.sacamera.co.za...

I can't wait, I did a bunch of pictures now for a friend of mine who is 2 weeks away from giving birth. I'm giving them to her as a gift.

I ad to do a lot of editing as the camera I used was a Sony cyber-shot 5.1 mpx

Can't wait to get the real thing!!!!

Okay, you guys asked that I let you know which camera I decided on....

Ordered it today, and it will be arriving on Tuesday..... The Cannon 550D.
The sales guy tried to sell me the 50D...which is pretty great too, but a bit out of budget...anyway.

That's it.
Thanks for all the advice and help.

That's awesome! I'd love to have a Cannon 550 as well but I'll have to wait a while.

How do you plan on backing your pics up so you never have to worry about losing any?
