For the first time in 16 years, the Handley Page Victor got airborne again, and this time without the cost of fundraising and overhaul that the Avro Vulcan had to endure!

The Victor based at Bruntingthorpe in England momentarily took to the air during a fast taxi run, and was quickly put back down on the tarmac.

www.flightglobal.com...

Unfortunately its a military aircraft, but I would have loved to have listened to the cockpit voice recorder in that one
'Uhm, are we airborne....?!'

Richard,
There has not been a thread title that has got me this excited since the CVFs got green lighted.
Fantastic old bird, the only V-Bomber which I ever saw fly (albeit as a tanker). It is remarkable how modern it looks even by todays standards. In a different world It could still be operating alongside its American contemporary the BUFF.
