Student's £100bn overdraft shock

news.bbc.co.uk

Looks like the banks didn't need a bail-out after all - they could just debit a student account for the money instead!

Anyone notice anything about this incident? The speed at which it was correct. No £35 fine for exceeding the overdraft limit, etc..

It goes to show that everyone is being taken for a ride by the banks - money is not really much more than a bunch of numbers in a big database, yet they charge us for all kinds of transactions, whilst ALSO making money out of our money we deposited with them.

I wonder if someone has managed to pull off a massive electronic bank heist some how?

That would make a fantastic plot for a book - maybe the banks will never admit to billions being stolen by a 19 year old at a terminal in a call centre

Prob just a mistake - but you never know.

Maybe a quick way to temporarily falsify figures for the bank.

A quick transfer into their balance for the record and then put things straight after the audit!

Bank = under the pillow.
