Does this work in progress show the way ahead for power supply?

www.youtube.com...

Obviously set-up costs would be high at present, but could this type of approach become viable on a mass-production scale? Above and beyond that, would this method of power supply be as green as it purports to be?

With all these ridiculous 'building codes', you figure they would force people to do this as well. If everyone used a system like this then there would be no energy crisis. The only people who are gonna get hurt though are current energy producers.

You can't help thinking 'vested interests' at the mention of energy-producing conglomerates. There's no denying they perform a necessary function at present - the question is how would they respond to calls for this approach to be widely implemented?

That would not be unthinkable. They could conceivably turn to the production / installation / maintenance of micro-generation systems. A government which commits itself to reducing CO2 emissions could subsidize such projects in the short-term. On the other hand maybe venture capital could perform that function.

What's the catch?
