President Bush is refusing to allow Sara Taylor to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on the basis of executive privilege.
The issue involved Sara Taylor’s role in the White House firing of U.S. attorneys last year and which has created a firestorm around President Bush and his Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
"It is unfair to Taylor that this constitutional struggle might be played out with her as the object of an unseemly tug of war," attorney W. Neil Eggleston wrote in a letter to Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee.
