In Geotimes March 2007 on page 19 is an article titled "Iran Faces Petroleum Woes" and is about the fact that Iran's oil exports are dwindling. Not due to drop in production but in rise of domestic use of oil.

By 2015 it is felt that Iran's entire oil production would become domestically used. If this is the case what impact does this have on Iran?

Will Iran become more global? Will Iranians become "middle class" citizens and be less inclined to war? Will Iran feel a need to go to war or lose its economic strengths?

Well, maybe THIS situation is the reason that they are wanting to develop Nuclear Energy. Maybe they are telling the truth. It may be difficult for some people to understand that they actually want to have an alternative source of energy and are not wanting to 'start another Holocaust'.

It's probably both - Iran expresses interests for both reasons....
