A British man wearing a T-Shirt with the image of G.W. Bush with the text "World's #1 Terrorist" was told to change his shirt, or be removed from an Australian flight. Attempting to travel from Melbourne to London, Allan Jasson was told that his T-shirt was a safety risk for the passengers on the flight, and thus a danger to the public. Mr Jasson is a 55 year old computer specialist who lives in London.

A passenger barred from a Qantas airlines flight for wearing a T-shirt depicting US President George Bush as a terrorist has threatened legal action.

Allen Jasson said he was sticking up for the principle of free speech by challenging the decision by the Australian flag carrier.

Mr Jasson was stopped as he was about to board the flight from Melbourne to London last Friday. Qantas said the T-shirt had potential to offend other passengers.

This seems a bit extreme for a T-shirt wouldn't you agree? The only reason put forth by Quantas was that there was the potential to offend passengers. No passengers complained, but there was the possibility that someone would. I'm scared to find out where this type of judgment could lead.

I must admit that I've never been to Melbourne, and thus don't have a complete grasp of the culture. May I ask some Australian members to clarify if this is the type of clothing that would offend the average Australian? Would it offend the average Brit? I know for sure that the average American may get a chuckle out of it, but would probably not create a flight risk.

Mr. Jasson is attempting legal action, and I hope he is successful.

This is not the first time this has happened although it has mostly been done domestically. This is a first time for me seeing this on an international flight in another country. The last time was actually in Texas and it was a Texas based airline Southwest Airlines that denied the passenger access to the flight because they wore a derogatory shirt about Pres. Bush.

Lorrie Heasley, of Woodland, Wash., was asked to leave her flight from Los Angeles to Portland, Ore., Tuesday for wearing a T-shirt with pictures of President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and a phrase similar to the popular film title "Meet the Fockers.
