Not only is the corruption totally visible, it highlights the constitutional imbalances that Bush & Co. are exploiting.

No oversight.
No discussion.
No disclosure.

That's the Bush Way...

A decision by the House Republicans to strip the Iraq supplemental bill of an anti-profiteering provision has outraged the Democrats.

The provision included during the Senate Appropriations Committee markup with unanimous support but removed in conference would have subjected those who deliberately defrauded the United States or Iraq to jail terms of up to 20 years and costly fines.

A Senate Democratic aide said, Several House Republican conferees were clearly empathetic, but they had to look to a higher authority. That higher authority was the White House, which had sent the marching order to strip this from the bill.

I bet there was a collective sigh of relief on K Street today..

Bad is good.
Greed is good.
Profit is good.
as long as the ones who are bad and greedy won't be held accountable for the profits they steal.
Get real, absolute power corrupts absolutely, you can see it on the playgrounds in grade school,at least I could way back when.
Most are infected and have no realisation that they are doing anything wrong at all...

Id say its a little more complicated then playground politics.

And to date, have we seen any legislation that even attempts to curb the bilking of taxpayers money? No.

This legislation had a chance and was even compromised with a sunset provision to make it more palatable. WH intervention in the matter has BIG implications for the rest of the legislative agenda. If you think we have gridlock now, this type of manipulation will only sharpen the divisions in both houses.

A timely reminder to those who haven't, to seek out and read Bush's Executive Order 13303 for the piece of criminal handiwork that it is in reference to Iraq and oil.

The admin is starting to do some very serious ducking for cover now, covering its tracks with layer upon layer of seemingly impenetrable legalese.

However, anything that this 'president' ever put his pen to can be revoked, and illegal profits DISGORGED (TM, Colonel, 2003) from his own estate, that of his fellow criminals, and their cronies.

you pay 25,000 for a toilet seat and 50,000 for a hammer.....

Thats how the gov't diverts funds. Even the pentagon came out and said that they "lost" tons of equipment, such as tanks, guns, and computers. Where did this equipment go?

Black Ops....
