Kind of interesting that Iran would storm and take over an oil rig today. Could this be some sort of preemptive action on their part to secure another
source of crude before larger scale military actions?

BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) -- A Romanian oil rig off the coast of Iran came under fire from an Iranian warship and was later occupied by Iranian troops,
a company spokesman said.
The Iranians first fired into the air and then fired at the Orizont rig, said GSP spokesman Radu Petrescu. Half an hour later, troops from the ship
boarded and occupied the rig and the company lost contact with the 26 crew members shortly afterward.

First Iran is turning away weapons inspectors from an underground facility. Now they're taking command of an oil rig just off their shore. Does
anyone else find this odd, especially on today? What sort of strategic purposes does this oil rig have, if any?
this is a repost - its allready all over ATS - its a romanian oil rig , the contract ended in April and was ordered to remain in Iranian waters , they
tried to remove it (they allready towed the sister rig away illegally) and so were stopped (to comply with the ongoing court case).
if this had happened in US waters the Coast Guard would be praised.
