Military to close NORAD site!!!!

This seems like a stupid move to me and the timing is a bit odd with tensions flaring up in the middle east, what is the real reason for the closing of this site?? Do they possibly have a better, more secretive site in mind?? I'm not buying the official story that says .......

Doesn't make much cense does it? I don't get it. What exactly is the government up too? Correct me if I'm wrong however if they say a nuclear strike can take out the mountain, what extra protection is on the AFB?
