Could it be? When i read this:

Employers who don't use the new computerized system could be fined $200 to $600. The system would include information from the Social Security Administration, the Internal Revenue Service and the Homeland Security Department.

Source: CNN

,,,it makes me wonder exactly what information they'd be sharing. It sounds like another step towards the barcode/microchip society that we're heading for. It's been obvious for years that immigration has been ignored until it' become the issue we have now. With the American people demanding that something be done, the solutions being presented seem to assist in easing society into the reality of being monitored continuously through gradual but important changes. It's a big step to put biometric scanners in the workplace, but if a system is in place already for identity verification, an "upgrade" to biometric input, "for our own safety" could make it more accepted and even welcomed.

What are your thoughts?

It could be used as an excuse for anything, even Martial law. Start with troops on the border, heck they could even catch and release the illegals. Catch them, inject em with a nano GPS transponder, let them go and the immigrant tracking system is in place.

After a few decades admit to useing the tracking devices, and claim them safe for human use. There by getting a foot in the door, for other uses of tracking via GPS implants. Other than the cell phone GPS that already is, come on if they are giving phone records of calls, surely cell phone records will include positions too.
