ROFL

OK.
How do you suppose I take the train or drive across the Atlantic Ocean?

You're grousing about transatlantic flights? There's plenty of cheapo air companies that will fly you there. Give me the destination city and I'll show you how low you can get affair if you look.

We ended up going Lufthansa with only one stop for like $3600. Anything cheaper was too many wasted hours.

What do you have in mind for cheaper options?

Are there not less flights? IE they are more packed?

Some routes are back to normal and then some. I fly to London regularly and United is back to hourly service. Each flight is jammed.

Yes packed with kids too. Crazy.

My flight the other day normally is $600 ish RT, was $797.00. Thank goodness it’s a company expense, because no way I’d spend that type of money for the destination I was going to.

737 hands down, the Airbus 319/320 makes too much PTU noise.

It's mostly leisure travel now as opposed to pre-Rona when it was more business. Leisure travelers book far ahead of time and will pay a premium for it.

Your travel dates are evil.

When I was there in the 80's I was assigned a golf cart to get me and my tools where I needed to be. They actually had traffic signals for the carts.

Take the train or drive.

Depending on where I'm going, that's sometimes a valid solution.
Now if I can just convince Finance that it is a valid solution.

A few months ago I had to go to Cleveland.
I live in Western Pennsylvania. I work an hour and a half South East of where I live.
I tried to get them to let me use my car and pay me mileage. They refused.
I had to leave my house at 4:30 AM to be at work for 6:00 AM. AirRide picked me up a 6:30AM.
It got me to the airport at 8:30 AM. My flight left at 11:00 AM. Arrived in Cleveland at 1:00 PM.
Got a rental and drove an hour and a half to get to the Customer's Plant at 2:30 PM
Worked until 6:30 PM and went to a hotel. Had pretty much the same thing in reverse the next day to get home.
A few weeks ago I went to a reunion. I drove a bit over two hours to get there from my house. On the way there I passed the Plant that I went to. It was about 114 miles from my house, just off the interstate at 75 MPH legally.

Yes, because 737s are just falling out of the sky on a daily basis.

Is that even too fast ? what about safety ?

Lean Six Sigma at its best. That assembly line is probably one of the safest on the planet.
