Funny how all these diseases are resurfacing and spreading just after a pushed vaccination worldwide.

It's not sudden or unexpected, it's been predicted for quite a while now due to disruption in vax programs in Africa and the middle east due to war and groups like the Taliban. It's endemic in a lot of places where the US gets a lot of immigrants from.

Take Afghanistan, the polio campaign there has been significantly disrupted, and there are thousands of new Afghani refugees coming in.

Funny how the pandemic skipped the unvaccinated continent of Africa, but the highest vaccinated countries like South Korea experienced a record number of deaths this year. Seems like its working amazingly well.

This is actually pretty much what you'd expect. Countries like South Korea and Japan have always had a problem with communicable diseases because they have densely packed populations, many multigenerational households, and are dependant on mass transit.

It's why NCY was hit hard early one. As was London in England. Same basic problems. Lots of lower to middle income people crammed into small apartments, who ride the metro daily.

South Korea also has a culture of showing up even if you're sick which didn't help.

Africa, on the other hand, people simply died by the thousand and it wasn't properly recorded. Especially among the elderly.

Do you think that it's a coincidence that countries like South Africa, which have better reporting systems, recorded more deaths?

So then, why does Africa have issues with so many other viruses, but when the most infectious / deadly virus in the history of mankind comes, it can't spread very well?

This is actually pretty basic, and you should know this. Didn't you study this in geography at school, or at least see it on the discovery channel?

Most of the diseases that Africa has a problem with are transmitted by animals, or by poor hygiene and contaminated water.

You see a lot of diseases like Malaria, bacterial dysentery, yellow fever, and so on. These diseases persist in the environment and are transmitted from the environment to people more than from person to person. Where diseases are spread between people they're typically associated with dirty water or a lack of hand hygiene.

What Africa doesn't have a problem with are raspatory conditions associated with speeding long periods of time in cramped conditions with other people, with poor ventilation. Such as in subway cars or office blocks with the windows closed.

This is because they don't do these things.

The places that they do, such as South Africa, you find lots of covid.

It's the same reason why covid hit NYC badly, but largely missed rural areas of America.

There's also the fact that things like the PCR aren't available to most Africans. So even if they do get covid it's often not recorded as being covid unless they're seriously sick.

In NYC you practically had to do a PCR everytime you went into aa school or a meeting. So even if you were asymptomatic it got recorded. In Africa, no PCR, so if you've just got the sniffles, and it's covid, it's never officially recorded.

They couldn't afford the ventilators...
